Hi, I’d like to join if the Horsforth group is still active? Not sure how to go about it!
Morning Emma!
Thanks for your query!
Yes LBC Horsforth will be back for 2024!
Thank you for emailing and we’d be delighted to see you at the White Swan.
Regarding the book club, we’ve been meeting up for 13 years and are a very informal group. People attend as they wish – there is no charge or registration (I do invite members into a WhatsApp group to pass on info but that’s voluntary!).
We meet up, usually on the second Wednesday of the month, from 7:30pm – 9pm.
Some have food, others don’t. We discuss the book, meander wildly into any other topic that catches our minds eye (cinema, tv, other books, comics, festivals, poetry, history, politics, cocktail making & cheese!) and then have a general chat.
Usually, most people will get the book read or have started it but we aren’t fussy.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, terrific!
We alternate between meeting up via zoom or at the Old Kings Arms in Horsforth.
Our first two reads for next year are:
17/01 F2F Smoke & Mirrors – Neil Gaiman
21/02 Zoom Life Ceremony – Sayaka Murata
Hi, I’m interested in joining your book club. I’ve read Lost Souls and just wondering about the zoom chat this evening and how I get involved?
Cheers,
Jamie
Hi, we are meeting at 7:30pm to discuss the frayed Atlantic edge by David gange. But you’re welcome whether you’ve read it or not!
If you email me at LeedsBookClub @ gmail.com, I can send you the link!
