For my birthday this year, a friend sent me this book as an alternative to a card.

Collated by Jackie Kay, this book is dedicated to Felix, a young man (boy) who ended his life at 17 as a result of bullying.
Each poem covers a different aspect of kindness with the fundamental theme threaded through it being that we all should strive to be kind, constantly.
We might be a lighthouse for others and never know it.
Included at the close is a powerful letter by Lucy Alexander , Felix’ mother.
At only 20 pages, this book packs quite a punch. I will read it again and again, then pass it on. The best books – and poems – are for sharing.
