ART – Mary Sibande at Sometset House – ‘I Come Apart at the Seams’

Last weekend, I went down to London, in part to visit the 24/7 exhibition at Somerset House. It was really enjoyable (and will likely be blogged about later this week :D). After we had worked our way through 24/7, I spotted the poster to the left - Mary Sibande - a South African sculpture, artist, … Continue reading ART – Mary Sibande at Sometset House – ‘I Come Apart at the Seams’

2020 Reads

I'm a little stunned that we're picking books for 2020...the future is now! And slightly less cool than I was expecting 😀 Anyhoo, we have our January books picked and I wanted to share them ASAP - partly to give the regulars a heads up as to what we're reading for when, but also to … Continue reading 2020 Reads

The Brontë Parsonage

This week, I have a friend from home visiting. We are both avid readers (in fact Laini has blogged for LBC in the past) and have a particular soft spot for the wild gothic stories drawn up by Charlotte, Emily and Anne. National Poetry Day

The theme for this year is 'Truth' No Second Troy BY William Butler Yeats Why should I blame her that she filled my days  With misery, or that she would of late  Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways,  Or hurled the little streets upon the great,  Had they but courage equal to desire?  What … Continue reading National Poetry Day

Little Free Library in Leeds Dock

This evening, while out walking through Leeds Dock, I came across this very sweet little free library! I got so giddy to see 'Take a Book, Leave a Book' that I completely botched the picture of that sign. 🙄 And it looks to be well stocked! Huzzah for literary Leeds!
