How to fill in the 2021 Census if you are closeted.

If you want to fill in questions about gender identity, sexual orientation or religion without other household members finding out, it is very simple.

1. Go census.gov.uk and click ‘start census’
2. Find and follow the link that says ‘need to answer separately from your household?’
3. Click on the link ‘request an individual access code’
4. They will text out a code you can use to fill out your own census form.

Your household will not be notified of this request and whatever is written about you will be overridden.
