National Poetry Day
The theme for this year is 'Truth' No Second Troy BY William Butler Yeats Why should I blame her that she filled my days With misery, or that she would of late Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways, Or hurled the little streets upon the great, Had they but courage equal to desire? What … Continue reading National Poetry Day
Little Free Library in Leeds Dock
This evening, while out walking through Leeds Dock, I came across this very sweet little free library! I got so giddy to see 'Take a Book, Leave a Book' that I completely botched the picture of that sign. 🙄 And it looks to be well stocked! Huzzah for literary Leeds!
LBC3Reads – Change of Plan
We chose our books for LBC3Reads at the beginning of the year. By October, we thought/hoped that the political situation in the UK would have stabilised somewhat. However...it...hasn't. My mum sent me this photo this morning - it was obviously created a few years ago but the quote is mighty and fabulous and timeless. … Continue reading Remembering Maeve Binchy
PHOTOS – Leeds Protest March
So it turns out, I really *believe* in parliamentary democracy. And when that is threatened, it's important to raise your voice. Which is what Leeds did - beautifully - this evening. Tonight's protest was primarily a Green and Lib Dem event - Labour will be protesting on Saturday. Which - FFS - IS RIDICULOUS! BREXIT … Continue reading PHOTOS – Leeds Protest March
QUICK REVIEW – Mr Kiss and Tell – Veronica Mars – Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham
A long time ago....we used to be friends... https://youtu.be/X56x44mVFJM Veronica Mars ran for three (EPIC first season, solid second season, slightly less impactful third season...but still waaaaay better than the rest of the YA shows from that time) seasons, from 2004 until 2007. It was hyped as a Nancy Drew for the 21st century, but … Continue reading QUICK REVIEW – Mr Kiss and Tell – Veronica Mars – Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham
